The idea behind the house

A name. A feeling.
A little more life.

A place for the first sip, the long catch-up, and the small moments that make a day.

THERE’S A PLACE FOR YOU HERE.
A name with a feeling

Chai means life.
We’ll drink to that.

“Chai” means “life” in Hebrew. That meaning is the heart of CHAI HOUSE: celebrating the everyday through really good coffee, something sweet, and time spent together. A first sip. A familiar face. A catch-up that turns into an afternoon.

Everyone has a place at our table. Whatever your background, whoever you’re meeting, or however you take your coffee, we want this to be a space where you feel at home. Our name is an invitation to enjoy life together.

Zachary and Roman are developing CHAI HOUSE as a small specialty coffee and pastry café near The Commons in Calabasas. A neighborhood ritual with a playful point of view.

Two cups. One good moment.

Here’s to being together.

Our two-cup toast is a small reminder to celebrate what’s right in front of us: a good coffee, a familiar face, and time together. Let’s drink to life—one everyday moment at a time.

The space we’re imagining

A midnight mood.
A little light. Your kind of place.

Retro shapes meet a modern coffee bar: deep midnight blue, soft Moon tones, sculptural lighting, and thoughtful glossy details. The space is still in development, but the feeling is clear—welcoming, expressive, and full of life.

This website is an early concept preview. The café design, menu, and opening details are still being developed.
